We had a great time clogging for the residents of Twin Pines Nursing Home. The smiles and toe tapping really made us feel welcome! We performed 6 dances-"Sky Full of Angels", "Sugar Foot Rag", "Bad Moon Risin'", "Religion in Glory", "The Great Defenders" and "Amos Moses". Then 3 of us performed our dance to "Kentucky Thunder". Several residents arrived after we had finished, so we "encored" 2 dances. We were pretty tired after that. This was our first time to perform "The Great Defenders" by Lee Greenwood. They asked us to visit regularly, and we look forward to doing so!

Looking forward to dancing for Twin Pines Nursing Home!

This is another video of our Sunday performances several weeks ago. We call this song "Religion in Glory". I don't know the real name of the Pat Boone song. We are looking forward to performing at one of our local nursing homes, Twin Pines, on Monday, October 26.

Double Feature!

First we did a practice run through our dances! We are (left to right) Eunice, Elsa, Faith, Martha, Valerie, Lori (behind Valerie) and Marj.

First we danced at First English Lutheran Church's Heritage Days Festival. We also practice in one of their Sunday School rooms.
Then we performed at Grace Lutheran Church's Celebration.
We sure were having fun!
This is one of my favorite photos! We danced to Sky Full of Angels by Reba McIntyre, Sugar Foot Rag by Jerry Reed, Bad Moon Risin' by Creedence Clearwater Revival (a Texas Line Dance), Amos Moses by Jerry Reed (a Texas Line Dance), Turkey in the Straw, and Religion in Glory (Not the songs real name, but I can't remember its real name because that is what we always call it!) by Pat Boone.
Thank you Martha and Nick for sharing your photos and allowing me to share them!

Sunday Performances!

Stars and Stripes Cloggers performed at two churches this Sunday. We had a wonderful, sweaty time! Everyone watching also seemed to enjoy it too! My husband took some video of our practice before we performed. He was in charge of starting the music for us at the performances. The video is the Texas Line Dance, "Amos Moses".

A possibility

There's not much here yet! Obviously! I am thinking about working up a blog for our clogging group. We have a free website hosted by iclog, but I like the idea of being able to add new info and photos myself! Also, the URL address is a long jumble unless we pay a yearly fee. With a blog I can incorporate our name to make us easier to find.
